Tumakuru Smart City significantly improved the public transit experience by upgrading existing infrastructure. Based on footfall and location at key city nodes, 15 of the 171 bus stops (six within the ABD area) were transformed into Smart Bus Shelters. Built with a modern, modular stainless-steel design, the shelters efficiently manage high commuter volumes and include dedicated autorickshaw spaces. They were equipped with "smart" technology—along with various amenities.
The Banyan Tree Boulevard project focused on reclaiming and enhancing a public open space centered around a group of large, established Banyan Trees, many of which are over 100 years old. Executed under the Tumakuru Smart City initiative with a budget of approximately ₹87 Lakhs, the project aimed to transform an underutilized area into a vibrant green public space.
